Immigrants over the age of 17 are entitled to a subsidy for their ulpan studies.
The subsidy is on a one-time basis.
Period of Eligibility for Tuition Assistance
Immigrants are entitled to tuition assistance for up to 18 months from the date of aliyah.
Immigrants who receive financial support or basic income assurance from the National Insurance Institute are entitled to an exemption from ulpan fees for up to two years from the date of aliyah.
Extending the Period of Eligibility
In extenuating circumstances necessitating the delay of studies, such as pregnancy, birth, childcare, change of residence, family distress, or sickness, one may contact the district or bureau directors of the Ministry and request permission for subsidized ulpan studies beyond 18 months from the time of aliyah.
Extension of eligibility applies to ulpan subsidies only, and does not extend to any other form of assistance.
Take Note!
You should clarify your personal eligibility for assistance at the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption branches and bureaus.
