Immigrant Women Create
Marking 20 Years of Massive Immigration and International Women’s Day 2010

To mark two decades of major waves of aliyah, the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption is organizing a series of events to honor the achievements and contributions of immigrants from throughout the world.

“Immigrant Women Create” is an exhibition of paintings by immigrant women artists from a number of countries that have come to Israel since the beginning of the wave of aliyah in 1989.

The Ministry of Immigrant Absorption has chosen to launch this first exhibition on International Women’s Day, March 8, 2010, as a tribute to the role of immigrant women in the family absorption process. This exhibit is also a salute to artistic excellence; each exhibitor in this show of visual art is remarkable and each does her part to enrich Israeli culture, art, and creativity.

The curator of this exhibit is the artist Andrian Judro. 

The exhibit is designed to encourage a creative dialogue between new and veteran Israeli artists, and to increase their exposure and recognition factor among the Israeli public.  This is another way to be heard, to be seen and to be remembered.  The show is also an incentive to create and a means for each exhibitor to encounter other artists as well as the general public.
