On 1/30/09 a new legislation became effective that now regulates the following professions:
1. Physiotherapy,
2. Occupational therapy,
3. Speech therapy,
4. Dieticians.
According to the above legislation, holders of bachelor’s-level degrees in these professions who practice in these fields and who wish to receive a certificate from the Ministry of Health (even if currently practicing) should submit a request to the Ministry of Health.

Note that in order to receive a certificate it is necessary to successfully pass government-administered exams in the relevant profession, or to qualify for an exemption from the exam.
New immigrants that practice in one of the above professions and who fall into one of the categories listed below should forward their documents and their curriculum vitae as soon as possible to:
1. New immigrants that have worked in Israel in one of these professions for less than five years.
2. New immigrants that do not hold a recognized academic degree in one of above-mentioned professions.
