About the Appeals Committee
The Ministry of Immigrant Absorption operates the Appeals Committee according to regulations that determine the eligibility of new immigrants/immigrant citizens/returning minors/returning residents to the assistance to which each is entitled.
The Appeals Committee of the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption is nationally-based, and is the only Ministerial body with the authority to consider requests for exceptions to regulations.
The Committee considers whether a given request is justified, and whether to authorize an exception to regulations in a specific instance, in relation to others in a similar situation.
The Committee meets once a week. During each meeting, the Committee considers cases from once District office (Jerusalem and the Southern region, Tel Aviv and the Central region, and the Northern region).
The date of the Committee meeting is publicized at Ministry branch offices. The dates may change due to unforeseen circumstances.

During each proceeding, requests from a specific region are consolidated, and the following members join the Committee:

Procedure for Submitting a Request
To submit a request to the National Appeals Committee, confer with a personal absorption coordinator at the nearest branch or district office of the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption. Bring all relevant documents and a personal letter that supports your request.
Applicants receive the Committee’s decision in writing.
